Even though the forecast calls for days of rain, the sun came out a little bit and we took some early morning shots of Vonica…

Here’s the fit and drape of the sweater shown in a showroom way – non-moving – with the sample not being pushed or pulled.

The sweater has about a two-inch overlap in the front – perfect for a shawl pin (or even a button at the waist level, using one of the built-in eyelets for a buttonhole). Or, as I like it, Vonica can be worn open, with its lacy band just pretty enought to add a self-finished decorative touch.

I’ve just cast on for moi using a sportweight yarn to see if one can push the envelope a little in the fiber department. Maybe, if the muse strikes, I’ll pull out a hook and make a custom button…

Throughout our day, we spend lots and lots of time going to and fro and most of that is on foot, on the sidewalk! That’s where we wear it, see it and get inspired by all the fashionistas (or not) out and about in Chicagoland. Our models are all our neighbors; the homegrown…

So, while we were on the Vonica shoot, we got a bee in our bonnet and decided to make a little video. There were some Sk8er Bois in our background who were making a video so we thought it be fun if they were in ours because we were in theirs!

Now, the only vidcam we had on our person was our little point and shoot cam but hey! Next time I’ll use my iPhone! (Forgot all about THAT).

Before we knew it, we had a few fun clips that show some style in action — here’s a little rough cut…

This time out, we were on upper Randolph Street, in one of my favorite off-the-beaten-path locations: a garden near Millenium Park (where lots of visitors go) but east and up the hill (YES! a hill) towards the Lake. It actually is a man-made berm; when they built the street they filled in the one side they built a large wrought-iron gazebo fronted by some high high doric(!?) columns. It is stunning…
