Exponential: days grow longer, To-Do List grows larger…
Maybe more like a gorgon — one task done then two or three others immediately rise up to mock me!
It is almost one week to go before I leave for Columbus, OH, to be an exibitor at the TNNA Trade show (Booth 1157). Chic Knits On the Road! Whoa!
Although this journey is going to take place via rental Impala, I’m feeling it’s more like a SixFlags brain-smasher ride that I’m really not driving at this point.
And valiantly, I think I’m going to finish the sweater you see above in time to wear during the show. hee.
It’s been on the bus with me for, hmm, weeks now and I get about 6 rows done every day. Well, an average sweater at this gauge is maybe 360 rows with sleeves so it looks like it’s going to be around, hmm, July 4th if I keep going at this rate! Too late for any floor action at that event unless I put the pedal to the metal…
Knitting on a deadline is a very challenging thing to do. I had a big taste of that last summer doing the Aleita Shell, when delivery delays gave me one week to knit the sample & finish writing the pattern.
R.O.D.E.O.
Ride ’em.
Even though I’ve been conditioned by years of making News Show deadlines (the phrase, “10 seconds to air where are you?” is permanently etched in my grey matter), this time I’m working without a director to keep me on point.
OMG! I’m the director! (And producer, designer, layout geek, photographer, secretary, comptroller, driver, bookkeeper, sample maker, writer, salesperson, customer service rep…)
And in a few days, Exhibitor!
I can’t wait.
Love love love those gut-wrenching super duper carnival rides.
