  Monday Morning Mirth

i can barely pickup the pen this morning because
I was busy last night doing THIS

>>>>> NOTE: the link above is getting a lot of hits today
so it might not load right away… <<<<<

is it just me or was the 78th the Most Boring ever? I thought Hollywood was TinselTown, not Sleepy Hollow! Between Jon Stewart’s nervous a**kissing and the insanely BAD parody ads for nominees, I was crushed by the mundane music they played throughout the acceptance speeches. Go back to the tiny musical CUE!

No, it wasn’t just you – they were sooo booooring. It gets worse every year – and Jon Stewart wasn’t even close to funny.

  2. margene says:

Boring, boring and that music was rather funeary. Jon Stewart was an idjut. Bring bad Whoopie!

  3. Jennifer says:

Yeah, it was a bit on the boring side, but I did enjoy it when “Hard out here for a pimp” won for best song. Could the winners have been more excited?

  4. Leslie says:

    Soporific. Loved Selma’s dress, though.

  5. Scout says:

It must have been boring because I was at a party and no one seemed to even be watching it. All I cared about was whether I won the pool. And damn Crash for winning! I would have totally won if Brokeback won.

  6. pixie says:

omg john stewart was great! Actually I thought he was playing more to us, then to the actors and I hate when the host like.. is “in” with the actors and is making jokes FOR THEM, I felt john stewar made jokes for me! lol

  7. Patty says:

It. Was. Horrific. Can’t wait for the FUG to begin at Noon PST!

  8. Gina says:

The ads were silly, but somehow, they were the funniest thing he did all night. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

  9. Knittykim says:

Really boring. I was FORCED, forced I say, to watch Hellraiser part 87 (i exaggerate) on SCIFI channel and flip back and forth. THAT is exactly…how…painful…the 78th showing..was. Bor-ing

  10. Amy Lu says:

Oh girl, if you were really playing the Oscars drinking game you would’ve had to had your stomach pumped! With that long of a list of things to drink for (and all of them occuring about every 5 minutes), you must’ve been “3 sheets to the wind” within the first half hour! :o)

  11. rb says:

But, but, but… George Clooney in a tux? I could watch 3 hours of that.

  12. Patricia says:

No, no, I loved Jon Stewart! And yeah, Cloooooooooooney, yum.
Whoever thought to play music throughout the acceptance speeches should be fired.

  13. Pat says:

I thought this was unquestionably the worst awards show yet. When “Hard out there for a pimp” wins an award, something is seriously wrong.

  14. Elizabeth says:

It was a yawn fest. Everyone is so effing serious at these things. I don’t think anyone could have succeeded with that crowd. I’m also sick of that song. How hard can it be for a pimp? Let’s hear it for how hard it is for the ladies.

  15. Bonne Marie says:

AYE AYE m’lady! But in Hollywood, the hookers are always HAPPY! or at least a little Sappy!

ie. Charity sings, [from Sweet Charity (Neil Simon/Bob Fosse)]:
“Tonight at eight you shoulda seen
A chauffeur pull up in a rented limousine!
My neighbors burned! They like to die!
When I tell them who is gettin’ in and goin’ out is I!
If they could see me now,
    That little gang of mine,
    I’m eating fancy chow
    And drinking fancy wine.
I’d like those stumble bums to see for a fact
The kind of top drawer, first rate chums I attract.
All I can say is “Wow-ee!
    Looka where I am.
    Tonight I landed, pow!
Right in a pot of jam.
What a set up! Holy cow!
    They’d never believe it,
If my friends could see me now!
If they could see me now!”
