  Monday Morning Mirth

Every season there’s a Look that simply can’t be ignored. This year around town, there’s a lot of Acid Denim redux going on but frankly, we can’t be sure it’s just not the recession making people go a little recycle crazy, like I gotta be me, I gotta be green.

Heh. And now that the weather is getting warmer in the fickle Midwest, we’ve seen something that strikes fear into our hearts even MORE than harem pants or holey knees: The Romper.

Worn with mile-high heels and lots of spray tan, this garment yanks us right back to the swinging ’70’s and disco madness, but people, really, should we go there again?

Oh this is such a big NOOOOOO. They remind me of my high school gym uniform. Same material even. Hideous beyond measure and totally uncomfortable.

  2. Bonne Marie says:

YOU are so right! Totally gym uniform — icky mustard yellow…

  3. Laurie says:

And this is why I never pay attention to what’s “in style”…I can just see my slim but not quite in shape 50+ year old body in one of those monstrosities…it’s not a pretty sight…not at all…

  4. And terminally UGGLLY!! What the hell was wrong with us in the 70’s? Ever watch a Saturday Night Fever rerun? Ugh!! It’s embarrassing…..

  5. tracy_a says:

And the whole going to the bathroom thing. Bad idea.

  6. Mary Lou says:

I have heard these called ‘adult onesies’ – that’s all you need to know. Ick.

  7. Susan says:

Some things are just wrong. That’s where I’m filing Rompers and Heels.

  8. Heather says:

Everything old is new again, but really, not everything should be repeated!

  9. Theresa says:

For anyone with a small child… this is just an impossible wearable. At least the romper part. I love my toddler but have no desire to share her wardrobe elements! I’d rather wear my sky-high heels with something sleek and black and actually sexy!

  10. Veronica says:

Dear Lord, no! I had my swing at the romper in the 80’s, big and boxy on a teen body, ugh! What can I say, it was the 80’s…

  11. Debbie says:

These are so wrong, especially because the women who wear them won’t have the same bodies as the models!

  12. BB says:

The one on the left looks sooo happy to be modeling them.

  13. AmyP says:

Anything designed to be worn by a three year old can *never* be sexy. Ever.

  14. yarnsnob says:

I dunno, maybe if they had one that fit my curvy shape and was made of a nice thin cotton, I might then wear it to bed.

  15. Kathleen says:

You know it’s bad when the tall, slim model looks like she’s wearing a onesie with a diaper under it.

Yikes, maybe there is a fetish for this.

  16. Katy says:

Even at Target! I did a double take and then got out of the junior dept as quickly as possible.

  17. Marie says:

I think it would be an even better look if worn with Ugg boots (snort!)

  18. lisa says:

After viewing this post, I found this page !!!!!

  19. Jody says:

They ride up – enough said
