Very cute look. Channeling spring, I take it?

  2. Lauren says:

It’s very cute, but I was wondering why you hand knit it, since it seems like it would have been a machine, straight stockinette job.

  3. Marg says:

Absolutely lovely! “Gracious” comes to mind. :-)

  4. Toby Wollin says:

BM — terrific and the bow is just so incredibly sweet. Definitely something that Hilary Swank could have used with that “hey, I ripped the back out of this just as I got out of the car” dress she was wearing. Just what the Oscar’s need: Some cool sweaters.

  5. Melanie says:

Love it! For those of us who are not ambitious enough to create our own patterns, here’s hoping to see that patten in Le Chic Boutique! :-)

  6. yeah Baby! very chic little cardi! Snaps and WOOFS!

  7. Julia says:

Fabulous! I hope this is a pattern that you’ll be selling, cause I’m buying – adorable. I love the color combo.

  8. Daphne says:

I love it! But then again, give me pretty vintage softness with a hint of rose any day. :)

  9. Kelly says:

ooooooooh. Pretty. Looks lovely on you. I’d buy the pattern, too. I have a thing for really well-fitting cardigans.

  10. rachelkates says:

Dang girl, I don’t have any Cash Iroha or Candide in the stash. When you put out the pattern, I’ll HAVE to buy more yarn. Bwahahaha. You’re the greatest!
And FWIW, I think it would be hilarious if you named the pattern Upstairs Was A Lady.

  11. Cher says:

Tres bien, Bonne Marie! Feels like spring.

  12. Hope says:

Absolutely gorgeous. When can I buy the pattern?

  13. Marlena says:

I love it! It looks fresh and new, but with a vintage appeal.

Will you be selling the pattern? Because you know, I need a few more for my collection. (When are you just going to put out a book, already???)

  14. Sounds like you have a lot of takers for purchasing that pattern! It’s a really fantastic cardigan and looks very becoming on you. What a creative woman you are!

  15. kitten says:

uh yeah bonne? totally gonna need that pattern like NOW.

  16. Sharlene says:

B, I love this modification!!! I’ve been thinking that I needed another SCC and may have to follow in these footsteps. I just love it!

  17. Libby says:

that is just gorgeous! Great fix!!!

  18. amanda says:

very glam. let me know if you are selling the pattern (unless it’s machine knitted)

  19. Rebekah says:

This cardi is simply beautiful! I love the CC you chose, it makes the whole thing really romantic. It was fun seeing this project evolve from it’s flashy origins to this delicate design. Keep up the good work!

  20. Bonne Marie says:

Thanks so much! I’m mad about (yarn)recycling right now. Nothing in my wardrobe is SAFE! I actually was going through my jackets trying to harvest buttons for another project last night. Who REALLY looks at the buttons on their suitcoats – there could be TREASURE in there…

The Pattern: This little cardi is actually based on the Sitcom Chic pattern found here:

I tweaked the gauge, and knit it in pieces instead of all-in-one…

  21. Meg says:

Very, very smart. It’s gorgeous & gorgeous on you!

  22. LauraA says:

That is really beautiful, and very classic looking. Good job and congratulations! I had fun with the Fix-a-thon, too.

  23. alison says:

Wow, it’s wonderful! I love the little bow closure. Very feminine. What a makeover. You’re the best, Bonne Marie! Thanks for showing us how it’s done. :)
