Monday Morning Mirth
They say in Chicago it rained 6 inches this June (normal: 2″). That and a little bit of traveling and my deck garden was bare.
But this weekend, the weather was so enticing, I couldn’t resist and found myself at the local garden center getting some beautiful new plants.
And there was something that caught my eye: FASHION!

Sort of like a hang tag – but wait! The name of the company is Hort Couture and they label themselves as “high fashion plants”.

You can see the plant in question as the pattern on the model’s dress!! In this case, it is my new favorite, ornamental Oxalis :) Simply Gorgeous!

I love the McCoy pottery you’ve got there, too.

My eye clamped onto that pottery, too. So pretty – I’ve got something in a similar color from my Gram, which now I’ve got to find because I think it’s got value beyond the sentimental (which makes it priceless already) and it’s just so pretty!
Very clever horticulturists! Love the tag!!

I’m trying not to think about how much rain we’ve had in my neck of Massachusetts in June (if it isn’t 6 inches, it is not for lack of trying). I’ve spent the last three days revelling in the sun before it goes away again.
