  Monday Morning Mirth

Company’s comin’! You know what that means – time to pull out those Christmas Decorations!

1. New lights for the vanity console in the bathroom so people can see their hands as they clean up.

2. New Faucets for the vanity console so people can wash their purdy faces and not splash all over themselves like those funny bathroom units you tried in France.

3. And, drumroll please!? A new Christmas Wreath of a toilet seat to wrap the season’s best in full glory…

Hahaaaa! You crack me UP. You made me remember the time we were looking for apartments when we first moved here. The girl showing us around the apartment knew I was foreign because I was speaking to the hub in English, and when we got to the bid-ay (yes, yes I know it’s spelled bidet) I tried to be funny and said in utter seriousness, “so…this is an extra sink, right?” while I held my hands over it like I was gonna wash them. The look on her face was priceless. She looked so dismayed! She must have thought I had never seen a bathroom before. Hehe.

I am SO stealing that toilet seat idea for our neighborhood solstice party tomorrow!

  3. Chelee says:

What a great reminder! I’ve been needing a new toilet seat myself. I need to buy it and wrap it for myself, you can’t have to many presents to unwrap at christmas.

  4. Wendy says:

Hey! We have that same faucet. Home Depot…dammit…before you know it we’ll be walking into the same bathroom no matter where we are in the country!

When I got married, lo these very many years ago, all of my mother’s friends gave me wonderful towels, etc. at a shower. The whole discussion revolved around how worn out their own towels were and how they never bought themselves any new towels, but thought nothing about getting them for other people for wedding showers. So they decided to have their own bathroom showers so that they could at least get some decent towels for their bathrooms. Bonne Marie — the bath tap and toilet seat look a little lonely — how about some new towels, eh?

It’s good to know you spare no expense for your guests BM! Attention to detail! That’s what it’s all about!

  7. Nicole B. says:

I bought a toilet seat too! My Dad’s only requestthis christmas was that I get a toliet seat as the old one pinched him in the ass. I’ve had a cracked seat for awhile…

  8. hee hee! now i want to go get a new toilet seat just so i can put a bow on it. (well, also because ours is all jacked up.) thanks again for the generous shout.

  9. Rose says:

Sunday night I went out to eat with some friends, carrying the bag from the hardware store with *our* new toilet seat! I joked with a couple of people about it being a Christmas present.
