  Monday Morning Mirth

film grain : le true grit

It’s been almost two weeks since I’ve made the odyssey from the chariot of the godz, the #66, to the coach of paradisio, the Blue Line Subway, after a building move downtown! In those two weeks, I’ve discovered what a creature of habit I am: the bus route is south and many a morning I would be two blocks into the walk-to before twirling and re-setting the body compass north…

I’m ridin’ different now and I’ve had a little fun celebrating with a subway stop portrait! I played with some casual tweaks on the original: the first picture above was processed with Photoshop’s Film Grain filter and is sort of how it really looks: dirty, gritty and damp…

cutout filter : how it looks when not enough coffee has been imbibed

plastic wrap : the portal

This is my favorite because when I first looked right down that tunnel I was a little sleepy and it looked like the Portal to Atlantis from Stargate!! Now I’m a fan of all things(!) Stargate and like to let my mind wander while I’m waiting for the train! Who would you be tunnel dreaming of?

I usually commute in with my hubby, so there is a little less fodder for unobtainable fantasy thoughts. When I commute by myself (and too braindead to knit or read), then I tend to think about Star Trek. Captain Picard, Vedic Bariel, Doctor Bashir. I haven’t seen any ST in ages, so it’s all memories in the back of my head.

Wow, that tunnel looks small; it’s giving me a London tube kind of look. I gotta say, the look without coffee is dead on. I have to pay attention, as I get on an elevated platform––don’t wanna fall over.

That 6 block walk in January’s gonna be a b***h. Get a full length down coat with a hood, AND knit yourself a cowl to wear under it as well. Good luck to you!

    I love Photoshop.

I think each has something interesting and unique. Must play with Photoshop now…

Umm, we appear to have the same taste in hot sci-fi guys!! I liked Peter too before he became space dust.

I also like Daniel Jackson, Teal’c and Ba’al. Oh, and Tomin looks pretty good in TAOT.

How beautiful. But you must miss the #66 people!
Chicago’s subway-without-coffee looks remarkably similar to the Toronto subway-without-coffee. :-)
