  Monday Morning Mirth

I’d just like to thank my Grandma
for this wonderful but unexpected
needle holder that’s been living on
the arm of my couch…

In my house, that would be called a “cat toy”. VBG! I, on the other hand, think it is lovely.

  2. CindyCindy says:

That is the most beautiful needle holder I have ever seen. Did she make it? It looks store-boughten like the ones my Grandmother had (she did knit, but only tablecloths and sweaters).

  3. Re-purposing at its best! So much more beautiful than the tangle that is in my yarn equipment box.

  4. Seanna Lea says:

I used to make doilies (umm, my major crochet phase was in high school) and filet crochet all the time, but I don’t think I ever did anything as stunning as this. It’s wonderful!

From you Polish Grandma, perhaps? Mine made all sorts of lovely lace things on tiny, tiny, tiny crochets hooks (which I now have). Unfortunately, she also made swan-shaped soap covers and toilet paper covers that looked like a bell skirt, complete with a plastic doll toso on top. Those, I do not have…:)

    OH! Now I’m all sentimental!

Busia (Polish for Granma) was just nutz about making those Doll Toliet Paper Tidies!

Here’s a cool site link if you are as Verklempt as I:

BTW, I can REALLY see how my *needle holder* would appeal to the Kitty Kats…

This is such a great idea! Anyone with a Polish grandma has at least a few of these around.

I feel nostalgic. I received a gift many years ago of beautiful crocheted textiles and I was never sure what to do with them. Too small for placemats – too large as a decorative doily. I’m going to try draping them on the couch!
