when Social Knitting Goes Bad

Whatcha gonna do when you need to knit, talk, and maybe eat??

After losing the good fight (repeatedly) of trying to knit things like lace in a group setting, one must soldier on with an easier project.

I give the wayTHumbsUp to this one: the Chevron Scarf.

IF you can keep the double skeins out of the Cool Whip (don’t ask), you are home free, slap happy and I guarantee you can chatter away WHILST KNITTING while eating while funning at your holiday table ;p

{sidebar: I’ve had to work the last couple of days and have been praying non-stop that today I do not have to do that Shopping Story! ayeEE. If you see me, give me a shout!}

BUT if you are fighting the good fight out there, HAPPY Hunting and I hope some cool yarn sneaks into your bags…

I’m glad your Thanksgiving was a good one! I’m going to stay away from shopping at the malls today, but maybe I can sneak in a yarn shop…

  2. Michelle says:

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope you’re safe from Black Friday coverage!

  3. Seanna Lea says:

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Black Friday makes me cringe and go all grinchy, so I’m hiding. I hope you don’t have to do coverage and get to stay inside with hot cocoa and some knitting.

  4. Maureen says:

I’m staying at home — no malls for me. I do hope you don’t get the Mad (sic) Mile story today.

Love the Chevron Scarf, I’m getting ready to do one with Lorna’s Laces “Black Watch” & “Flames”. What are you using?

  5. meg says:

Hope you didn’t get that ‘black friday’ assignment! I went out with my Dad early this am. for a $10 polarfleece jacket. By 11am I saw a crazed-looking blonde coming out of one of the outlet shops & decided it was high time I high-tailed it outta there. Yikes.

  6. Wanda says:

I definitely stayed away from the malls too, but funnily enough I ended up at my LYS. A few lovelies followed me home. :-)

  7. claudia says:

I *so* hope you avoided the shopping story today. Our local TV news shopping story looked ug-ly.

  8. carrie says:

Ooo, cute scarf! Sounds like you had fun =)

  9. I had the same problem knitting Lenore Socks while at a knit night. Alas, there was no Cool Whip, but there was wine!

    Lovely scarf, btw!!

  10. Tracey says:

I really hope you weren’t out in that chaos called Black Friday. Now see, our stitch and bitch always meets at Starbucks so I can totally sympathize w/ you on coming home w/ projects lavishly dipped in whipped topping.

  11. Jennifer says:

Great scarf! I probably wouldn’t have thought to mix those colors from the skeins, but together they just…work somehow. The brights are toned down, the neutrals are brightened up, I really, really like it!
