Action Reaction November 10, 2011

It’s only fitting that on the first Snow Day in Chicago, I’d be working on something a little bit furry…

This Mondo Cable Cardi is made with a wool/mohair blend yarn and is very, very cozy. On a day that seemed like it careened from one crisis to the next, it is comforting to sit down with something so inviting and just knit some plain old Stockinette st.

And I just love the feel of the yarn on my chilly lil hands.

I also love my new favorite
stitch markers: safety pins.

There are so many WIP’s around
the studio that I’ve actually
run out of regular stitch markers!

You see, I really like to mark
the shaping in progress: here
you see the sleeve decreases.

Since losing track of the count
is so very business-as-usual here,
any little tool helps in keeping it
on track and keeping me out of the
loony bin. ;p

From the tweets I’ve read you sound in need of some major calming activity. Glad you found something that fits the bill!

Be careful of those safety pins — if that loop gets caught in a stitch– even from moving around the knitting — you will have a safety pin there forever! Use the kind without loops and stay safe. Voice of experience here!
