  Monday Morning Mirth

One of a daughter’s duties when on a Mother’s Day Visit is to go sit under the Family Tree and see if anything interesting shakes down from above

In her Junior Year, Mother ran for office in high school (treasurer, always a good position for a girl). She was a tap dancer and pom-pom girl and often wore real costumes and even short uniforms. Her nickname was “Legs”.

The boy volunteers helping her campaign would go into a classroom and draw the outline of a leg on the board in chalk with the single word VOTE underneath. She won the election, hands down…

    hands down…

That’s probably exactly what she had to say to all her constituents. :) That’s a terrific story!

Very smart campaigning :) I love old pictures like that, too. I’ve got one of my grandpa in cavalry uniform from college – jhodpurs, tall boots & Dudly-do-right hat. Kind of gives the ancestors a certain glamour, eh?

What a wonderful picture of your Mom!
I have a picture like that of my Mom as well. She’s wearing a cardigan…that I have tucked away in a drawer.

  12. Sil says:

Dude, your mom’s shoes are HOT! Nice work.

    Okay Bonne Marie,
Spill it! Did your mom just love the mothers day goodies? I know I would have. Blue and black are so, well you know, perfect!

For my mum, I cooked lamb chops ala “cooking with Lydia” from PBS and fresh stuff from the farmers market and topped it off with strawberry shortcake. She loved it and she ate it all up.

Have a wonderful time in your jeep, I miss mine, I had a 1987 Cherokee and loved it, had it till 2004.
