Wearing a WIP on one’s lap like a blanket means one thing around here.
It is Fall.
There are nip-sies in the corners; little cold pockets here-and-there in the house, poking.
Yesterday, I was wearing a silk chiffon scarf and when I took it off, I was surpised at the sudden coolness of my neck. The lingering warmth in the silk I held in my hands was a revelation.
Just understanding that that one layer could make such a difference was stunning.
So, even though I’m living in the Land-of-a-Thousand Unfinished Sleeves, it doesn’t mean I’m not enjoying myself. This sweater spreads out nicely over my limbs as I knit and feels so very cozy. I’ve perfected the back-and-forth of knitting with two circulars so it only moves the sleeve to-and-fro in a minimum arc as I go from side-to-side. (BUZZER: overuse of compounds!)
Here is one Vonica sleeve finished:
Speaking of LUCK, or lack thereof: about a week ago, we were deeply tweaking the Chic Knits’ website. It appears we poked it with a too-sharp stick, because suddenly, the RSS feeds went whack-a-doodle! They had lost their way but hopefully, we’ve put them back on track. Our sincere apologies for the list-reader angst we delivered – it was truly gruesome.
So we’d like to ask you to do something:
>>> Take this code: wack-a-doodle and use it for 20% off the pattern of your choice for the next 24 hours in the Chic Knits Ravelry Store…
I think everything is making nice so far (can’t remove the old list, though, sorry!) – now all we have to do is finish knitting our second sleeve and block it.
Such a transformation between No blocking / Blocking!
I’m now about 4″ into the next sleeve this morning and if luck holds out, maybe new threads are right around the corner! I’m loving this in wool…
