More than This November 1, 2011

Wearing a WIP on one’s lap like a blanket means one thing around here.

It is Fall.

For real.

There are nip-sies in the corners; little cold pockets here-and-there in the house, poking.

Yesterday, I was wearing a silk chiffon scarf and when I took it off, I was surpised at the sudden coolness of my neck. The lingering warmth in the silk I held in my hands was a revelation.

Just understanding that that one layer could make such a difference was stunning.

So, even though I’m living in the Land-of-a-Thousand Unfinished Sleeves, it doesn’t mean I’m not enjoying myself. This sweater spreads out nicely over my limbs as I knit and feels so very cozy. I’ve perfected the back-and-forth of knitting with two circulars so it only moves the sleeve to-and-fro in a minimum arc as I go from side-to-side. (BUZZER: overuse of compounds!)

Sorry. :)

Here is one Vonica sleeve finished:

Chic Knits Vonica

Speaking of LUCK, or lack thereof: about a week ago, we were deeply tweaking the Chic Knits’ website. It appears we poked it with a too-sharp stick, because suddenly, the RSS feeds went whack-a-doodle! They had lost their way but hopefully, we’ve put them back on track. Our sincere apologies for the list-reader angst we delivered – it was truly gruesome.
So we’d like to ask you to do something:
>>> Take this code: wack-a-doodle and use it for 20% off the pattern of your choice for the next 24 hours in the Chic Knits Ravelry Store

I think everything is making nice so far (can’t remove the old list, though, sorry!) – now all we have to do is finish knitting our second sleeve and block it.

Such a transformation between No blocking / Blocking!

I’m now about 4″ into the next sleeve this morning and if luck holds out, maybe new threads are right around the corner! I’m loving this in wool…

I love that sweater in gray. I don’t know what’s gotten into me this season but gray is calling my name.

I think the feed might still be a bit wonky over on Ravelry — posts keep repeating, 4 and 5 at a time.

I’ve been hankering to knit Twist lately — I think I’ll go pick that up!

I am TOTALLY in love with grey – just can’t get enough…

I just saw the repeats on that list – not sure what’s going on.

Google has been switching a bunch of stuff around today – they just released a new interface for their whole Google Reader family. They also control Feedburner which posts my stuff. Maybe its duping stuff incorrectly YET! I went online and searched around and many others are having this problem too…

Oh, so that could be why a couple of posts from early last week only showed up on the weekend and now Google Reader says all three recent posts haven’t been read!! Oh, yes, they have :) ) Thanks for the discount too <3

  6. meppybn says:

Hoooo-wheeeee, Derica Kane is mine, all mine!!! Thanks Bonne Marie L)

  7. Bonne Marie says:

    My pleasure!

I’ve got my fingers crossed that the ghost is out of the machine, but you know, it’s the internets, and there’s scary dark corners…

  8. Penny says:

I love this. At first glance, I thought it was denim. Very nice.
