How to Make a Re-cycled Felted Purse

I started out with an olde sweater that I accidently felted in the washing machine. To make the felt even denser, I washed it with some blue jeans and a little squirt of Dawn DishSoap.

I used a little brocade purse I already had to measure dimensions - I want to make an approximately 6" wide by 9" high purse. 3inches will be trim, so the seamed dimensions of my felted piece will be 6"X7".

NOTE: *** I actually had to make a 2" cuff because the eyelash yarn is not stiff enough to edge the top of the purse. If you do not want to do this, make your piece 9" high to begin with

I happened to have a six inch wide piece of cardboard so I decided to use it to trace the width dimension.
